Why is my kitten occasionally making a weird noise when he eats?

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Bengal. They definitely have some strange vocalisations... Our kittens especially make these weird noises when eating. It's like they are growling softly at their food. We think that they are trying to show the food who's boss, or that they are pretending that they stalked and killed this bowl of food themselves. You should hear the noises that they make when another kitten tries to take their food away!
