What's his problem!? Constant mood changes!?

Am soo annyoyed at my finace! When somethings upsets him, like family etc instead of telling me what the problem is, he distances himself and takes it out on me. I've tried to coax it out of him but he's turned into stone and insists there is nothing wrong. What can I do??
