Security deposit and eviction?

I have a horrible landlord, who is out for any penny he can get. He sides with my neighbors downstairs, just becuz they can afford to pay him months of rent at a time, up front.. So with that being said, of course he has evicted us because I have my younger sister come over 2 visit a couple of times a week, and i was taking care of my brothers kitten while he was gone on vacation for a week. So, he evicted me, saying that the cat is ours, and my sister lives there. So anyways, he gave me a 30 day notice to quit. Hasn't gone through court proceedings. Today is the 30th day.... And we are waiting until tomorrow to be able to start the move to our new place. (THANK GOD!) .... He came banging on the door a few minutes ago, of course and said that the sheriff will be here if we are not gone completely, within 2 days. He hasnt even LEGALLY evicted us. He loves 2 scare us with all this big "cop" talk.... Anywho, he has live wire hanging off the back porch, its not deleaded and the woman downstairs babysits 3 of her grandchildren everyday of the week, for hours at a time. SO PLEASE bring on the sheriff. (haha). Anywho, I gave him a $300 security deposit at the beginning, when we signed the lease. Are we entitled to get this back? (IM IN M)... Thankssss!
