Spaghetti sauce Help! ?

I'm trying to figure out what to make for dinner and I was in the pantry and found that we have 2 cans of tomato sauce and a few cans of tomato paste. I have never really made sauce on my own my dad has always done that so I have never paid attention to how he does it. Besides some garlic and home made meat how should I go about making it? Should I add the tomato paste? How much? I have 2 cans of sauce and 2 cans of paste. Add both paste? Help! Thanks
